Admission Requirement

Potential candidates should fulfill the following requirements:

  • Graduated from a recognized university and obtained a Bachelor's degree, normally with honours not lower than Second Class; or
    Graduated from an honours programme of a recognized university with a Bachelor's degree, normally achieving an average grade of not lower than "B"; AND
  • Obtained a Bachelor's degree, preferably with a major in medicine, physiotherapy, nursing, exercise science or other allied health-related disciplines.

Additional Information

  • Past academic record, work experience and reference letters will be considered in the admission decision.
  • Candidates who do not obtain a degree in related disciplines but with relevant work experience in health or sport related areas are still considered.
  • Candidates who graduated from non-English speaking countries (e.g. China, Japan) are required to satisfy the English Language proficiency requirement of Graduate School. They are required to provide the the TOEFL or IELTS score report for assessment of English Language Proficiency.

Admission Procedure

Students are admitted only in September of each year.

Application can be done at the Graduation School online application system. The selection process will be ongoing progressed after receiving all the required documents and application fee. Details of the admission procedure are as follows:

1. Online Application

  • Applicants should read the Notes for Online Application before submitting application.
  • Submit application form through the online application system.
  • There is an application fee, HK$300, which is non-refundable.
  • Application fee can be paid by the following methods:

    • By credit card (via applying online)
    • By direct crediting HK$300 into the CUHK bank account ''Hang Seng Bank: 293-005005-011''. Applicants are required send the original receipt to programme office for document vertification..
    • By cheque / bankdraft payable to ''The Chinese University of Hong Kong" to programme office.
2. Submit supporting documents to the programme office on or before deadline.

Notes:

    • Non-local applicants should complete the online application form and submit all required documents by 30 Apr 2017.
    • Local applicants should complete the online application form by 30 Apr 2017 and submit all required documents by 10 May 2017.
    • Late submission will NOT be considered.
    • Applicants will be notified if additional documents are required.
3. Application Result

Applications will be reviewed from Jan to July 2017. Applicants may be invited to attend an admission interview.

Applicants can login the Application for Admission to Postgraduate Programmes System  and check their application results in the section of “View Application Result” (from Mar 2017 onwards).

Successful applicants will receive an Admission Package from the Graduate School which contains information about Registration Procedure and Payment of Student Fees, etc.
